Concrete Doesn't Age. It Just Gets Dirty.

That grey, blotchy slab isn't worn out — it's wearing twenty years of mould, oil and grime. One clean and it looks poured last month.

Concrete is porous — it drinks in everything that lands on it. Oil, rust, gum, mould, algae: each needs different chemistry, which is why a water-only clean never fully works. Our concrete cleaning across Sydney pairs targeted pre-treatments with rotary surface cleaners for a uniform, professional finish on paths, patios, slabs, garage floors and pool surrounds.

There's a safety angle too: the invisible organic film on shaded concrete is what makes it dangerously slippery when wet. Removing it isn't cosmetic — it's how you stop the next slip near the pool or on the front steps.

Our Concrete Cleaning Process

Surface assessmentAge and condition checked — worn or older concrete gets adjusted pressure to avoid etching.
Targeted pre-treatmentDegreasers for oil, acid-based removers for rust, treatments for organic growth — the right chemistry for each stain.
Rotary surface cleanEven, stripe-free coverage across the entire slab.
Rinse & optional sealFull rinse-down — and sealing if you want the finish locked in for years.

Why Chemistry Beats Pressure

Rust won't blast out. Deep oil won't blast out. Efflorescence gets worse with water alone. Knowing which treatment shifts which stain — and what your concrete can safely handle — is the difference between a professional result and an expensive mistake.

Concrete Cleaning FAQs

Why does my concrete turn black and green?

Black is mould and carbon build-up feeding on moisture in the concrete's pores; green is algae thriving in damp, shaded areas. Both are organic growth, both are slippery when wet, and both come off completely with the right treatment.

Can you remove rust stains from concrete?

Yes — but not with pressure. Rust bonds chemically with the concrete and needs specialised acid-based removers that dissolve it from within the pores. It's one of the jobs where DIY attempts consistently fail.

Is high pressure bad for concrete?

Sound concrete handles it well; older, worn or previously etched concrete can be damaged. We assess before we start and calibrate accordingly — and rotary cleaners spread the load evenly, which is far safer than a concentrated wand jet.

How do I keep concrete cleaner for longer?

Seal it. Sealer blocks oil and moisture penetration and slows mould regrowth dramatically — cleaned-and-sealed concrete stays presentable for years rather than months. We quote both together.

Do you clean pool surrounds?

Constantly — it's one of our most requested jobs. We remove the slippery algae film that makes wet pool concrete genuinely hazardous, and control all runoff so no detergent enters your pool.

How long does concrete cleaning take?

Most residential jobs run 1–3 hours depending on area and staining. Large patios or heavily stained slabs with multiple pre-treatments can take longer — your fixed quote covers it regardless.
